Petrol Mercedes E-class: what changes with a remap

With a petrol engine the remap works through the ECU's ignition, fuelling and turbo boost tables. Re-calibrating them within safe limits releases power that is already there, rather than adding anything to the engine.

Mercedes E 240 177(+02) against other E-class engines

Ranked by power gain against the other petrol E-class engines (21 in total), the E 240 177(+02) is 18th, 8 bhp below the E-class petrol average of 25 bhp.

Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 17 bhp and 35 Nm sits below that benchmark.
